Opening on Friday, January 31st is a student-curated photography exhibit, Botanical Bodies: When Identity Blossoms on Skin. This exhibit explores the intimate relationship between nature and personal identity through photographs and stories of individuals adorned with botanical tattoos that celebrate the beauty and diversity of plant life as a form of self-expression. Each image tells a story of connection to nature, heritage, and personal meaning.
The exhibit was conceived of and curated by the 2023-24 Botanic Garden Student Educator team, and it was photographed by senior Nivedita Pari. It hangs throughout Lyman Plant House, weaving visitors' experience of taking in the botanical world with how that world has left imprints on individuals.
Botanical Bodies opens on Friday, January 31—with an opening reception held that evening from 4:30-6:30 pm—and it will run through May 30, 2025. Learn more about the exhibit on the Botanical Bodies website.
