Paula Cortés is a recently retired licensed landscape architect, and a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Cortés took former Botanic Garden Director William Campbell's Horticulture course while at Smith, and moved on to the University of Massachusetts Amherst for her master's degree in landscape architecture. She established her firm, Cortés Associates, in 1980, and has worked primarily in the public sector in the Boston area, designing parks, playgrounds and community gardens and then incorporated private garden design into her work.
Cortés previously served on the Friends of the Botanic Garden Advisory Committee and is very pleased to be able to lend her support to the newly reconstituted Friends Leadership Council. She looks forward to working with the council members and College staff.
