As a member of the Friends of the Botanic Garden, you are an important reason we are able to do the work we do. We like to express our gratitude for this meaningful support by offering access to special viewing hours at the Spring Bulb Show, and connecting you to over 380 peer gardens across the country with free entry and other discounts. As a new way to share our appreciation, Director John Berryhill will be offering members a chance to learn about our work and our collections directly from him. For members who are not local, there will be a virtual version of this event.
On October 9, 2025 at 4 pm ET join Director John Berryhill on a tree walk through our historic arboretum. This educational tour will explore the stewardship of old trees and managing risk as they grow large. There will be lessons for homeowners and advocates of heritage trees in shared spaces with plenty of time for questions. (A rain date is set for October 16, 2025 at 4 pm.) RSVP now and reserve your spot on the tour.
We know that a tour through the Smith College arboretum isn't an option for all of our members, so Director John Berryhill will be offering a virtual version of this tour earlier the same day. The virtual tour is scheduled for October 9, 2025 at 12 pm ET and will be hosted as a Zoom Webinar. RSVP and a zoom link will be emailed to you.
Both the in-person tour and the virtual tour are hour long programs. For the in-person tour, space is limited to 80 guests so don't delay on registering to reserve your spot. We hope to see you all at one of the two tours–or at the garden in another capacity very soon.
