It’s a pivotal moment in the 130-year story of the Botanic Garden of Smith College. In the last several years, we’ve been thinking through every aspect of our policies and practices, represented in documents like our Collections Management Plan, Learning and Engagement Plan, and our newly-published Racial Justice Action Plan.

We are excited to announce the posting of two leadership positions, both of which will offer qualified candidates the opportunity to help the botanic garden live into its values.  Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with consideration beginning November 15 and an ideal start date of February 1, 2025.

Manager of Engagement

The Manager of Engagement will work to develop and maintain relationships with campus and community partners in support of the botanic garden’s mission to foster environmental and social justice through teaching and learning about plants, people, and place. This key member of the team will build institutional capacity in service of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility through community outreach and program development.

The salary range for this position is $63,000 to $73,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate's relevant experience and how it aligns with the position requirements and minimum qualifications, with careful consideration for internal equity. If you have specific questions regarding the compensation structure or benefits, please reach out to Ashley Lomma (alomma@smith.edu) on our HR team, who can provide further clarification.
