Into the Glasshouse: A reflection, conversation and collaboration between Smith students and Lyman Plant House through sculpture and drawing

Over the past three semesters, students in Susan Montgomery’s Studio Art Foundations and Drawing I classes have observed, drawn and sculpted for a couple of weeks each semester in Lyman Plant House. They have worked in collaboration with botanic garden staff learning about plant structure, form, and function to inform their work. This exhibit, made possible by a botanic garden curricular enhancement grant, is the result of their investigations, experiments and observations.

Into the Glasshouse will run from January 20th through June 8th. Opening reception will be held on February 10th from 4:30pm to 6:00pm, with light refreshments provided.
