Ceremony at the Japanese Garden for Reflection and Contemplation
First designed in 1986, this garden has gone through many changes over the past 30 years. In its latest incarnation, the garden has been re-envisioned by Japanese garden consultant John Powell. It has been restored, while still respecting the original intent.

Joan Edwards is a botanist whose research focus is plant-animal interactions. She is Professor and Chair of the Biology Department at Williams College.
The New Volunteer 2017 three day training session runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Registration is required.

Science continues to gather compelling evidence of how physical and emotional health are essentially connected to trees and forests in ways that were likely more obvious to our ancestors. We’ll discuss those findings, and opportunities for you to get involved, and to change the way city planners, the health industry, developers, politicians and educators shape our future.
To celebrate Botanic Garden Director, Michael Marcotrigiano's retirement, Dr. William Friedman will present a special guest lecture.
