125 Years in the Making: 2019-2024 Strategic Plan for the Botanic Garden of Smith College: 

In a yearlong collaboration with Botanic Garden staff and supporters, and Smith College students, alumnae, and faculty, the Botanic Garden of Smith College developed a new five-year plan to guide us into the future. The 2019-2024 Strategic Plan prioritizes:

• Placing Smith students at the center of everything the Botanic Garden does and ensuring every Botanic Garden initiative is an opportunity for students to get involved
• Celebrating human diversity and ensuring the Botanic Garden is physically and psychologically accessible to people of all backgrounds, identities and abilities
• Investing in and preparing the next generation of institutional leaders through internships, professional development opportunities, and staff mentorship
• Ensuring that Botanic Garden spaces facilitate and celebrate discovery and exploration

The Botanic Garden of Smith College will accomplish this work by:

• Investing in staff positions that will ensure sustained impact and long-term success of the Botanic Garden
• Creating new opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills
• Updating gardens, greenhouses, exhibit spaces, and student spaces to ensure they are advancing the Botanic Garden's mission
